Breaking News: Al Gore To Become Obama’s Vice President

After the way Al Gore backed Barak Obama yesterday one would think that he would make for an ideal candidate to be Obama’s running mate. Gore attacked the Bush administration indicating that they were incompetent, negligent, and a “failure”.

At a rally of Obama supporters in Detroit, Michigan Gore said that “Americans simply cannot afford to continue the policies of the last eight years for another four.” Gore was the 2000 Democratic presidential nominee.

Al Gore running alongside Obama certainly would bring force to Obama as many political analysts have pointed out. Gore kept quiet while Obama battled Hilary Clinton for the democratic nominee position. Chances are he did this because he didn’t want to create a conflict between the Clinton party.

  1. I think it is ironic that a candidate that democrats feel won the 2000 election (I voted for him too) because he won the popular vote aren’t throwing more of a fit that Hilary won the popular vote this past primary. I think Mr. Gore’s argument for Obama was weak at best, comparing him to JFK, when everyone knows Nixon would have won that election had it not been televised and Nixon, who is tainted by Watergate, was generally a better president than JFK. But, despite the weak argument, I think Gore did the best he could with the candidate he is backing. If it were a better candidate, it would have been a stronger argument. Honestly, if Gore was to be put on the ticket as VP it really does little for me. I am ashamed to say that I will not vote democratic this year, unless that is someone else is put at the top of the ticket. I’ll take my chances monitoring McCain (I can’t believe I just said that.…yuck) and a third party candidate like Bob Barr.

  2. Let me see if I have this straight:

    1. The man who lied about inventing the Internet is backing Barack Obama.

    2. The man who made the cheesy and truth-challenged film “An Inconvenient Truth” is backing Barack Obama.

    3. The man who is so concerned about the planet, but who also has a “carbon footprint” larger than some third world countries, is backing Barack Obama.

    4. The man who is, essentially, a political failure is backing Barack Obama.

    And further,

    1. The man who attended a certain church for 20 years but who claims he didn’t know his pastor was the anti-white, anti-American firebrand he was, accepts the backing of AlGore.

    2. The man who has only an incomplete term as Senator under his belt accepts the backing of AlGore.

    3. The man whose wife is finally (after some 40+ years) proud to be an American accepts the backing of AlGore.

    4. The man who would be the poster boy for political gaffes accepts the backing of AlGore.

    5. The man who has derided the American military accepts the backing of AlGore.

    6. The man who knows precious little about the Middle East accepts the backing of AlGore.

    7. The man who wants to meet with those leaders who mean Americans serious harm accepts the backing of AlGore.

    That’s quite a ticket.

  3. Al Gore cannot be the VP nominee.

  4. Honestly people… We let the media control out perspective on these possible candidates way to much. I read the same blog about Al Gore’s speculated energy consumption. However I am smart enough to realize that the media LOVES to blow things like this out of proportion. Just because they say it doesnt make it true…
